Print Friendly Page
The Capella Ludgeriana was founded by means of a fusion of the Knabenkantorei am Dom and the Schola Ludgeriana on Ascension Day 2009.
Founder and director of the choir was Domkapellmeister Andreas Bollendorf, who has been chosen to be the successor of Klaus Knubben at Limburg Cathedral in August 2015. Alexander Lauer, the new Domkapellmeister (director of music) at Münster Cathedral is to continue the work with the Capella Ludgeriana from August 2015 on.

After about one year in the preparatory choir and voice training, the boys enter the Capella. Boys meet for rehearsals two to three times a week.
Their repertoire includes masses, motets and chants of all periods. Usually the Capella sings once per month in the Cathedral. The Capella Ludgeriana takes also part in concerts and events on special occasions.

The choir is part of the Domsingschule Münster, a traditional choir school with multiple choral groups, who contribute to the musical life at the cathedral.
