James Orrell James is twelve years old and is currently Head Chorister at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

As a singer, James has sung with many of the choral societies in the Northwest.One in particular, the Liverpool Welsh Choral Union has sung such solos as the John Rutter 'Requiem',the Leornard Bernstein 'Chichester Psalms' and the part of the 'Youth' in Mendellsohn's 'Elijah' with Sir Willard White. In the Summer of 2006, James was given an important role in the London Arts Project named "Ornamental Happiness" at the Liverpool Unity Theatre, directed by Rose English. James was a finalist in the prestigious 2008 Chorister of the Year competiton. He sang Let the bright seraphim (from Handel's Samson) and My song is love unknown (Love Unknown)

As well as singing, James plays the violin, viola, piano and organ. When he was ten, James joined the Liverpool Youth Orchestra as their youngest ever violinist, and then went on as a violist.

Since the Chorister of the Year final, James has been able to take his Archbishop Award for the Guild of Church Musicians with flying colours! He will be presented his award by the newly ordained Archbishop of Westminster in the Chapel of the Savoy. James has also recently been invited to partake in the youth programme "Young Voices" as the main soloist. He will be singing with groups, such as "Libera". Some of the venues he will be singing at are the MEN Arena and the Royal Albert Hall. As well as this, he has continued to sing as a soloist across the North-West of England, with such roles as a reprise of "the Youth" in Mendellsohn's Elijah, Soloists in many Requiem settings such as Rutter and still continues to be in constant demand.
