Alex Birnie Alex Birnie began singing with the Calgary Boys Choir when he was six, and at the age of twelve, Alex went to live in Austria and sang in the Vienna Boys Choir, where some of the highlights included working with world class conductors such as Riccardo Muti, performing for the pope, as well as touring Europe, Australia and Japan. Since returning to Canada, Alex has been studying voice with Dawn Johnson. He has represented the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival at the provincial competition in Edmonton on numerous occasions, most recently being recommended this year in the 'musical theatre senior' category. Alex's interests include classical repertoire, jazz, popular music and musical theatre. He intends to pursue a degree in both vocal performance and business.
