Derek Redfern Derek is the younger brother of Jamie Redfern. He joined Brian and the Juniors for its last year on air in 1969, and sang a number of duets with his big brother. In the early 1970s he was cast as the voice of the animated Herald newspaper delivery boy in a series of commercials, singing "I'm Your Happy Herald Boy."

Derek and his sister Linda appeared as guests on Young Talent Time in September 1972 and sang a duet. Derek impressed the producers and joined The Young Talent Team in 1973.

Derek quickly became one of the most popular team members in Young Talent Times 18 year history and was a teen heart-throb with an enormous and extremely loyal fan base. A great vocalist and one of the shows finest dancers Derek recorded his very own hit single "Put your head on my shoulder" which charted well around the nation and went into the top 10 in a number of Australian states. Derek has only recently returned to the stage and judging by the amazing audience response to his live performances he clearly has not lost any of the magic which made him such a popular television star and YTT team member.
