Simon MC (in daily life known as Simon Grandry) had just turned 12 when he became one of the ten finalists in the Eurosong for Kids contest (the Belgian preselections for the 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest). It was the punk band X!nk who won in the end, but for Simon it was his breakthrough.
To prove that he's more than just a 'Eurosong kid', Simon MC participated in Freestyle MC Battles, in which he immediately stood out with his young, fresh style. As a result Simon signed his first record deal with X-Wood Records.
In 2005, nearing his 14th birthday and with a first single in the shops, Simon MC has become one of the youngest MC's in the Belgian and Dutch hip hop scene.
