Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Ottawa The Men and Boys' Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa, first formed in 1891, serves as the Cathedral's primary Choir. The choir sings for all major Cathedral services, and also, for special events taking place in the Ottawa context, ranging from State funerals in the Cathedral to State receptions hosted by the Prime Minister or by the Governor General at Rideau Hall. The Gentlemen of the Choir consists of up to twenty-five adults, and teenagers between the ages of fourteen and twenty. The teenagers, as well as the choirboys, receive a small stipend based on their attendance at rehearsals, services and performances, and the adults give their time and talents freely to the Glory of God. The choirboys are between the ages of eight and fourteen years old.

The Choir of Men & Boys has taken the music of the Anglican Community to many parts of Canada. In 1989, the Choir made a ten-day visit to Canada's Western Arctic. In 1990, in the presence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Choir sang in Washington National Cathedral as part of the National Cathedral's Year of Dedication. In 1992, the Choir visited Canada's Atlantic Provinces. In 1995, the Choir toured Alberta and British Columbia, and in 1999, the Maritime Provinces.

In 2007, the Choir of Men and Boys delivered a number of performances in New York City. At Trinity Wall Street, the Choir performed Choral Eucharist for a September 11 Memorial Service. At the Cathderal of St. John the Divine, the Choir performed Choral Evensong. In 2008, the Choir was invited to perform at St. John's Church, Elora - a noted seat of choral excellence in Canada. In July of 2009, the Choir served as Choir-in-Residence at Ely Cathedral in England. During its stay in England, the choir gave performances at several colleges and churches in Cambridge and performed Choral Evensong at St. Paul's Cathedral, London. The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys regularly performs at Cathedral Arts concerts and with other major professional arts-group concert ensembles and soloists.

The Choir's repertoire is rich and extensive. Its recent repertoire includes: Bach's St. John Passion, Handel's Messiah, Stainer's Crucifixion, Duruflé's Requiem. In May of 2009, a showcase concert - "From Handel to Howells, and from Byrd to Britten" - was recorded by the CBC and broadcast in its Choral Concert series.
