Print Friendly Page
Eirik Gjendemsjø Eirik was born in Kristiansund, a week later his family moved to Elverum, where at a young age the talented boy became interested in singing and music. After 5 years in Elverum the journey went to Bærum, where he and his family live today. When the "Silverboys" (Sølvguttene) searched new members in 2003 Eirik attended the audition. In August the very same year he began in the aspirant choir, and a few months later he attended the main choir as a first soprano.
Today Eirik is still a soloist in the "Silverboys". The years in the "Silverboys" have given experiences and memories for life. Together with the choir, he has been on several tours and he has contributed to show why the "Silverboys" is a recognized choir, both nationally and internationally through countless concerts and tv appearances. He has been a soloist in the public celebration of His Majesty King Harald's 70-year day, he has sung for Mrs. Michelle Obama, he has participated in the choir for Andrea Bochelli and he has participated in the choir for Morten Harket and Diana Ross in the Nobel Peace Prize concert in 2007 and 2008, and all this before he has grown to fill 15.
Despite his young age Eirik Gjendemsjø has already a copious CV, with experiences most of us can only dream about. In 2006 Eirik attended audition at "Art musical school", and was brought up as a student after his audition. As a student at the school, he has played the lead role as Mowgli in the musical "Jungelboken" and he has participated in the musicals "Annie" and "Den magiske musikalgryta". All performances were played in Sandvika teater. In April 2010 Eirik participated in the musical "Back to the 80's", which was played in Chat Noir.
Eirik just loves life on stage, and it means a lot to him being able to express himself through song and dance. He has appeared as a soloist in "Ut i vår hage 2" NRK1, he played Otto Jespersen as a young boy in "Rikets røst" on TV2, and in 2008-2009 he participated in "Norway's got talent" and made it all the way to the semifinals and ended up among the 11 best, of a total of 3,000 people. He has also sung the theme song for TVNorge Christmascalendar for 2010, "Den unge Fleksnes." Eirik sang on Morten Harkets album "Letter from Egypt", and he has been a soloist on Finn Kalvik's album "Neste stasjon Grorud", and Ole Edvard Antonsen's album "Desember stemninger". He was also a soloist on an anniversary disc that was given as a gift to the artist Prince on the occasion of his 50-year day.
When he is not on stage singing or performing, he is an avid photographer where he has shown both creativity and attention for details when it comes to taking pictures. In addition to his singing with the "Silverboys", he sings in a group and also works on his own solo career. He successfully took part in the Norske Talenter 2009 (Norway's got Talent) and has been posting videos on YouTube for some time.
Meanwhile a record company signed him. His first single is due to be released in September 2010.
