Pueri Gaudentes    (est. September 1990) Classical Choir of Men and Boys
Print Friendly Page
Pueri Gaudentes The chorus "Pueri Gaudentes" was founded in September 1990 by its chorus conductor Zdena Součková in response to a growing demand of boys and their parents' interest in the chorus singing.

During their tours abroad the boys have traversed a great part of Europe, they have been in Japan twice, they have been successful participants of many international competitions (Nantes, Neerpelt, Preveza, Gorizia). Every year they play up to 40 performances on the stage of State Opera Prague (Bizet - Carmen, Mozart - Magic Flute, Puccini - Turandot), they cooperate with prominent Czech musicians in great projects (Bernstein - Mass, Webber - Requiem), record for radio and television.

The repertoire of the choir comprises pieces of various epochs and its diversity is documented by the five published CD's which contain Christmas carols, spirituals as well as Requiem by Gabriel Faure.
