Tom Hunt (now a Bass) was born in Stroud and was Head Chorister at St. John's College Cambridge under Dr. George Guest. Trained by Hervey Alan and Lyndon van der Pump, he later became a graduate and prizewinner of The Royal College of Music.
He now enjoys an active concert career and has regular association with many leading professional choirs, including The Academy of Ancient Music, The Sixteen, St. Paul's Cathedral, The City of London Sinfonia and Worcester Cathedral. He has performed in major music festivals in England and Wales, with the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford and the Barbican and the English National Opera at the Aldeburgh Festival.
He has made many commercial recordings and can be heard frequently on radio - most recently with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Music From Worcestershire conducted by his father, Donald Hunt.
Harry Mudd, executive producer of Abbey Records and the associated Alpha Label, made an enourmous impact with his standalone recordings of choirs and boy soprano soloists in particular. This recording includes highlights from some of these soloists on CD for the first time.
