Philip Raymond joined the choir in 1972 at the age of 7. In 1977 a boys' choir was formed to sing at the 9:30 am Parish Communion Service and Philip, as head boy, took the weekly practices in October 1978. In the same year he attended a course organized by the Royal School of Church Music in Canterbury Cathedral, and was selected to sing the Benedictus in a special performance of Mozart's Requiem to mark the death of Pope Paul. He was also elected member of the Southern Cathedral Singers with the R.S.C.M. A keen flautist, his hobbies also include rugby, badminton, and cricket. Philip attends Ysgol Dewi Sant comprehensive School.
