Ansgar Krook - Ingmar Bergman's The Magic Flute (Trollflöten)
Ingmar Bergman's The Magic Flute (Trollflöten) (Criterion , DVD) November 1975
Featuring Erland von Heijne   Ansgar Krook   Urban Malmberg
Instead of simply filming a staged run-through of the opera, Bergman chooses to play with the framework around such a performance given in Stockholm's elegant Drottningholm Theatre. Intermittent shots of audience reactions and sudden, psychologically probing close-up angles result in a richly textured, multilayered effect. Urban Malmberg (first boy), Ansgar Krook (second boy), Erland von Heijne (third boy).
