As a young shool boy in the late '70s & early '80s, Jason Carlisle Clayton was a chorister in St. Mary's Cathedral Choir, becoming Head Chorister.

Jason later sung in a number of other choirs including St. Francis of Assisi Paddington, and the Anglican choirs of Christ Church St. Laurence, St. James' King Street. He was also the regular cantor at St. Peter Julian Church, Haymarket, for the weekend Vigil Mass. In the last two years of his life, he returned to the ranks of St. Mary's as a tenor.

Jason died in 2005, at the age of 38, of sudden heart failure.
