Print Friendly Page
ZICO SHAKER was born on October 18, 1990. He joined Hampton Court Chapel Royal Choir in September, 1998, shortly before his eighth birthday, and became a private singing pupil of Stuart Ward in October 1999. He made rapid progress, and was soon singing as a soloist in local public concerts. In the spring of 2002 he was selected to premiere 'MILES' in a new production of Britten's 'THE TURN OF THE SCREW' for a tour of Holland by Dutch Reisopera.

Zico was cast as 'FIRST BOY' in Mozart's 'MAGIC FLUTE' at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 2003, and took part in the BBC2 broadcast of this production. Zico also gave a recital at St John's Smith Square, London, with Alex Prior.

More recently, Zico travelled throughout Southern England with English Touring Opera, performing once again as 'Miles' in a new production of 'The Turn of the Screw'.

Zico is a keen sportsman, supporting Manchester United with great enthusiasm. He also enjoys swimming, hockey, tennis, table tennis, and ice hockey when he gets the chance. He is Music Scholar at Reeds School, Cobham, Surrey.
