Brest Boychoir The boyschoir of the Palace of Culture of the Trade unions of the city of Brest was founded in 1982 by the graduate of the Belarusian Academy of Music Alla Igumnova who is the art director and the conductor of this collective.

Brest Boyschoir is the laureate of many international and republican competitions and festivals the winner of the Grad Prix and of the first Prix "Golden String" of the XX-th international Competition (Poland) the laureate of the Prix of the President of Belarus, the winner of the first World Choir Olympiads in Linds (Austria).

The choir works in the system of amateur art creative work. However it has come as close as possible to the perfect sound of the professional collectives. In 1985 the chapel was awarded the name of the "Exemplary Art Collective" and became to cooperate with Central TV (Moscow) very closely that was the place where a number of programs were made. Since 1986 the Chapel Started taking past in many festivals in the Baltic Republics, in the so called choir festivals and thus they gained the experience from the best choirs of the former Soviet Union. In 1990 the Chapel became a participant of the international festival of choirs in Poland, gave a number of concerts in Warsaw, Lublin, Pulavy, Poznan, Byalo-Podlyaska, Tchenstokovo, Khainovka, Bygdoshy. The chapel became the winner of the first prix "Golden String" in the nomination "Choirs tuning fork a capella" in 1997 in Bygdoshy during the XX-th international competition. It also won Grand Prix of that competition. Soloist A . Semenyuk was also awarded a name of the best soloist of the musical competition.

In 1997-1998 the choir made several radio performances and there were also made several films. In January 1998 during the 2nd international competition of Spiritual Music in Minsk the chapel got the second Prix and the name of the laureate. Then there was participation in the VIII international festival of Spiritual Music "Gaude Mater" in Chenstohovo (Poland) in the VII-th international festival of Spiritual Music in Khainovka (Poland), in the festival of folkart "Belarus is my song in the XV-XVI international festivals of the World Orchestras (in Briv, France). In 1990-2000 the chapel started preparing the competition program and its participation in the old Choir Olympiad in Lints(Austria) and as the result the chapel was awarded the Golden Medal and the Diploma in the nomination "Traditional Spiritual Music of the 19-20th Centuries a capella.

Nowadays the chapel has two big concert programs: the first one consists of spiritual orthodox music and includes such complex compositions as the choir concert by M.Belezovski "Ne otverzhi menya vo vremya starosty" the fragments of the Liturgia of St. Ioann Zlatoust by P.Chesnokov fragments of the cycle "Vsenoshchnogo Bdeniya" by S. Rakhmaninov and etc. the second one the public consists of the compositions by Western, Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian, classic, compositions by modern authors and folksongs.
