  Raffles Voices    (est. 1991) Classical Choir of Men and Boys

Founded in 1991, Raffles Voices is the choir of Raffles Institution, one of the premier secondary schools in Singapore.

Our choir is a SATB boys choir and has a wide repertoire, ranging from negro spirituals to classical pieces to asian pieces. To date, we have held a total of 6 public concerts and performed at many more. Music Extravaganza was held in July 2002 at the Raffles Institution Lecture Theatre 1. Though it was a mini-concert, it was a roaring success. The concert ended of with "Heal The World" by Michael Jackson, with all 5 Musical Groups of Raffles Institution giving the audiences a Grand Finale. We also hold yearly carolling sessions during the Christmas season.

In November 2002, we embarked on a trip to Prague for an international choral competition, 'The Festival of Advent & Christmas Music', in which we attained a Bronze award. We also toured Major Cities in Germany like Frankfurt.

In March 2001, we clinched a gold award at both the SYF Central Judging. That was our third consecutive gold award since 1997.

Since our founding, our choir has grown from a modest size of nine members to the present strength of over a hundred. Our resident conductor is Mr Toh Ban Sheng and our teacher advisors are Mdm. Charmaine Chiang and Mrs. Koh Keok Keong.
