What started in 1971 as a school district choir in Marysville, has emerged as a renown music organization with regional and national preeminence. In 1973, the first Boychoir summer camp was offered. The following year, its first album was released. In 1977, the Boychoir boasted 50 members and launched its first Lessons & Carols concert. And in 1979, the Northwest Boychoir took its first international tour to England. In 1991, the Northwest Boychoir was selected to undertake its first professional movie sound track. The Northwest Boychoir has produced countless recordings, taken 16 national and international tours, and has performed in the world's most prestigious concert halls and cathedrals.
Northwest Boychoir River Legacy features the Northwest Boychoir and Northwest Sinfonia performing American folk songs. It is the culmination of a two-year long effort, as part of the Tukwila Centennial.
