  David Acres Boy Soprano Soloist
Print Friendly Page
David Acres David Acres started his musical career at an early age when he became a probationer in the choir at Exeter Cathedral in the 1960s. He progressed through the cathedral choir and finished his last year as Head Chorister.

David went onto further education in Kent where he passed his O and A levels in music. During this period he sang with several leading choirs in the area, until he left school in the early 1970s.

He originally decided to pursue his artistic career more in pottery and ceramics, but after a couple of 'doldrum years', decided that the lure of singing was too strong to ignore. David sung in several ensembles and choirs in London and the Home Counties, returning to Devon to live in the late 1970s. For a while he sang with the Devon-based John Loosemore Singers, Voces, Torbay Singers and several local parish choirs.

Today, David frequently sings alto in Exeter Cathedral Choir, and also sings with ensembles between Plymouth, London and the Home Counties. (biography from Counterpoint website)
