Nizhny Novgorod Boys' Choir The first director and organizer of Gorky Boys' choir was Vasily Pavlovich Malyshev - a delicate, responsive and gifted musician.His student Lev Sivukhin began to work with the choir as the choir master in 1952 and since 1961 has been the permanent arts director of the choir. He is People's artist of the Russian Federation, professor, an Honorable citizen of Nizhny Novgorod, a laureate of International contests and a composer.

The repertoire of the choir covers large works and choral miniatures, folk songs and contemporary music, special attention being-paid to compositions by Nizhny Novgorod composers written specially for the boys' choir.

The voices of the young singers have been recorded on two disks by the firm "Melody"; the "Boys" album has been issued by the publishing house "The Soviet Composer".
