The Chapel Choir of the Blue Coat School Birmingham    (est. 1722) Classical Choir of Men and Boys
Print Friendly Page
The prime duty of the choir is to lead the singing in the School Chapel for the daily Assembly and the two Sunday services.

In 1722, following a gathering of several Birmingham sitizens, plans were put forward for the establishment of The Blue Coat School. The Rector of the newly-completed St. Philip's Church took keen interest in the proposals and he leased part of his garden to the Trustees. It was on this land that the original Blue coat Schoool was built. In time, St. Phillip's Church became a Cathedral and the School moved to more spactious surroundings at Harborne.
